At the end of 2015 TANGRA’s team completed the ventilation, heating and air conditioning installations in new administrative building, located near the tunnel at the “Pencho Slaveykov” blvd. in Sofia. It is the second stage of a private investment, intended for a business building to meet the needs of “UniCredit Bulbank”. The total floor area of the two buildings is 18 500 sq.m.
The new building is multifunctional and it accommodates offices, a restaurant, a kitchen for the restaurant, a fitness centre, a commercial shop and an underground parking. The people, employed in the building and using its offices on a daily basis exceed one thousand.
The stylish new façade corresponds to the exiting building, which was completed in 2009 (stage I) and establishes a completely new appearance of the entire area. Thanks to the excellent performance and satisfying the occupant’s needs in the first stage, the specialists from TANGRA were invited to design and were awarded the contract for the implementation of the HVAC installations in the second stage of the project.
Paris, 1998. International Exhibition on Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning. “An exhibitor at the stall of a Belgian company noticed my interest and asked: “Sir, do you know what this is?”. I replied: “Yes, I do. We have been producing heat exchangers like these in Bulgaria for 10 years”. A little anxious, the exhibitor asked: “Excuse me, sir, where is Bulgaria?”.
It seems the discussion for the necessity of energy recovery systems is over not only in Western and Northern European countries, but also in Bulgaria. For the people who made serious effort for convincing and proposing legislative changes in the last 20 years, it is a real success. Today it is rare to see a ventilation or air conditioning project without energy recovery (recuperation or regeneration).
The economic pressure (rise of energy prices) surpassed the legal regulations. Designers and investors reacted more adequately than the legislators.
The next important step is the choice of the right energy recovery system. The right choice means a cost-effective choice that doesn’t compromise the microclimate.
